I love video games. Since the early 80's I've been sucked in by gameplay, and awed by new generations of graphics. My preferred genre is the FPS, but I've dabbled in many others and had a great time doing so.
So why have I decided to work with the Unreal editor when there are other FPS editors, and other genre editors out there? Well, it came along at the right time, and the DVD version of UT2004 offered video tutorials. It just seemed like the natural choice at the time.

.....I started playing games on my friend's Commodore 64, progressed on to his Atari 2600, through his Apple IIe and then onto my own Tandy 1000SX. I created levels for Loderunner and a bad golf game I had. Later on my parents purchased an Atari 2600 for me.
.....I continually played games through elementary school, Jr. High, and into High School. I spent my lunches in High School programming graphics in basic, writing midi music, or playinggames on the computer labs' PCs. Finally Castle Wolfenstein 3D arrived on the High School PCs and my fascination with gaming was solidified forever.
.....My departure for college gave my own private PC and introduced me to the Internet and BBSs when modems were expensive and 1400 baud was amazing. Then a friend introduced me to Doom. I finally tried designing my own levels for Doom and completed 1 remake of E1M1 and 2 original creations. I then moved on through other FPSs, dabbled in strategy games, both real-time and turn-based, dipped my toes into a few RPGs, and tried my hand at a few driving games. But I kept returning to FPSs.
.....Near the end of my college career, I started getting into multiplayer gaming. I trounced my college friends and started exploring online game services. After I got tired of playing Duke Nukum 3D, Blood, and Quake 1, I tried designing my own maps for Duke. I made 3 total - 2 half-finished and 1 original map that I did release online.
.....After college, I was trapped in a dial-up world and so was resigned to playing new FPSs in single-player only. I had a good time but I lusted after broadband internet. Finally I got the hook-up and was back online.
.....Since then I've played many games online and when UT2004 came out, I started mapping.
